The Outerbridge Crossing connects Perth Amboy, NJ to Staten Island, NY. It is the most remote bridge in NYC, and the southernmost bridge in NY State.

Its name, however, is from Eugenius Harvey Outerbridge, first chairman of the NY Port Authority.

London's Pearly Kings and Queens, so called because they wear clothes studded with countless pearl buttons, were originally the "aristocracy" of the costermongers or barrowboys and were elected to safeguard their rights from competitors and rogues. These days they use their status to raise money for charity.

Every year the Pearly Kings and Queens of London celebrate the Harvest Festival at the Guildhall in the City of London.

I have met a Pearly Queen.

Ha! The Pearly Queen I met can be seen in the Guardian's photos, dancing round the maypole.

I love eponysterical names. I was watching 'Cops' once and the officer arresting the suspect was called Officer Handcuff.

That's such a great name I wouldn't believe it was a real name because it's not just genius, it's Eugenius, and I'd shove a Harvey in there myself.

Hey, the time stamp is weirdly off.

Yes, apparently this is one of those trivia facts that stumps people all the time, bc who would be named Outerbridge? Love it.

because it's not just genius, it's Eugenius

I love you, eth.

They call it a crossing so as not to say Outerbridge Bridge.
