I am pleased to say that we have sold our child (14 months) on Siouxsie and the Banshees. Fortunately/unfortunately, this means that we have listened to The Passenger (regular and extended mix) at least 135 times since last Friday. But she sings along to the la la las, so we're thrilled.
We went to a hipster-y show last week where they played the ELO album Balance of Power between sets. I busted my brain trying to figure out before I Shazammed it, and then I downloaded it. I don't know why I don't have, like, the entire ELO oeuvre accessible at all times. The '80s-ness of it really hit my sweet spot.
Random Name Generator by Wilco has been in my head all week. The new album that that song is from is the album of the week on the local public music station around here so I've heard it on the radio a bunch of times.

Rock Your Baby, by George Mccrae. I am not ashamed to say that I LOVE disco music. I was exactly the right age for it, mid-late teens. I really like the Latinesque rhythm of this song, it always makes me want to dance.
Every once in a while BBC4 has a Disco Night late on Fridays, where they show a fantastic documentary about how disco started in gay clubs in New York and about Gamble & Huff in Philly, the Bee Gees and Saturday Night Fever, oh, it's a wonderful way to pass an hour.
I had to forcibly stop myself from listening to Hamilton because I was going to ruin it for myself, and also the weeping.
But I can't stop commenting at every screw up, "You're never gonna be President now."
