Summer plans! For those of you in the northern hemisphere... have you started planning your summer?[More:]

We were just going through our planner, and only have like, 2 or 3 weekends free until mid-September. Crazy! Lots of visitors and a fair bit of time out of town. Our highlights will be our annual week in Vermont and two weeks in NZ at the end of August. Other little trips here and there.

You guys?

I have a friend visiting from the USA in May, and a trip to Salem, MA and Ohio in August, for a wedding and to see family and friends.

I am going to Key West in about a month, so I can turn 50 while very drunk and staring at the ocean. (I daresay it won't help, but it'll be a nice try.)

At the end of June I am taking the train to Florida for an antiquing trip with my sister. She might come visit me in August but that isn't settled.

We just got home from a vacation (Charlottesville and surrounding area) to celebrate my MIL's 70th, and our summer calendar is completely full!

Two sets of friends are visiting from Brazil for a total of a month's time. Almost our entire family lives within miles of the ocean (we are the farthest inland in Chapel Hill), so we always have beach weekends. At the beginning of August, we'll be off to Seattle for 10 days. End of August, back to Brazil. It's not even May, so I'll hold off on telling you plans for the rest of the year - suffice to say, we are damn near booked solid.

It'll be a summer just like all the other summers. We can't afford a vacation to anywhere, so summer will be just like the rest of the year...Work. Sleep. Eat.

IN May, I have Shimmy Mob, a performance at some festival in DC, and then I'm going to Folkfest with my homie. I've got some tentative yard sales put on my calendar and a tentative performance for June. July has the first Maryland Bellydance Convention that I'm booked for 2 performances. If I get off my ass and submit my application, I'll hopefully sit for the Academy of Certified Archivists exam in August. And that's it so far.

Sesame Place in May. Moving at the end of the June. Ocean City for July 4th. Probably going to FL sometime in late July/early August to meet my nephew when he visits from China.

Going to Tuscany with a group of 4 couples for a week in July, I can't wait! My best friend booked a beautiful villa for us and there will be a pool and maybe a vineyard tour.

Man, Tuscany and Umbria are so great. Great food, great country side, wonderful old villages...
You'll have a wonderful time.

Our trip to Alaska in August includes a five day land tour that includes Anchorage and Denali and a seven day cruise that includes Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan. I'm so looking forward -- I've always wanted to go to Alaska (big Northern Exposure fan here). I've also booked a couple excursions so far, including a whale watching tour and flight seeing in a float plane. Eeeeee! So excited!

Hawaii's next on the travel wish list, but we'll have to let the bank account recover a bit first.

I'll be in Boston for a few days in early June; the rest of the month and July are up in the air because I don't know yet where the TGT meeting will be. I want to go to Chicago some time in July to see the world's fair exhibit and in August I'll go to QC and the Canadian maritimes to see the 1812 sites.
